I’m sure most of you know that every version of Windows Vista except for Enterprise has a 30-day trial/evaluation period. This 30-day grace period is fully functional and does not require a license, serial key, or activation. However, if the trial ends and Vista has not been activated it will lock itself into Reduced Functionality Mode. Now of course there are still ways to use your now crippled O/S but for most people it will be too much of a hassle to put up with.
So whats the solution?
Simply rearm the activation grace period before the existing period ends.
You can even rearm the grace period up to 3 times! Which equates to around 120 days of full usability without activating!
Instructions Below
- Click on the Start button and type in CMD into the search box.
- Hold down CTRL-SHIFT and hit ENTER to open up the command prompt and Run as Administrator.
- In the command prompt type in: slmgr -rearm
or you can also use sysprep /generalize - Hit enter when your done typing in the command and reboot your machine.
- Rearm again when the trial period expires ^_^
