Have you ever wanted to make your Windows machine BSOD on demand? Well this registry hack does just that.

WARNING! Before you start modifying your registry you should make a backup or risk hosing your entire system.

First you need to disable the restart automatically on system failure setting.

  1. Right Click on My Computer
  2. Click on properties
  3. In the System Properties menu click on the Advanced Tab
  4. Under Startup and Recovery click on Settings
  5. Under System Failure uncheck the Automatically Restart box


Now to hack the registry.

  1. Start > Run > regedit
  2. Navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesi8042prtParameters
  3. Right Click on Parameters in the left hand pane and select New > DWORD value
  4. Change the name of the DWORD value to CrashOnCtrlScroll
  5. Right click on CrashOnCtrlScroll and select Modify
  6. Change the value data to 1
  7. Now Restart the system for the changes to take effect.

To use simply hold down CTRL and hit Scroll Lock twice =D
