FREE GAMES
Download and unzip flashenabled.com/h20/psp/games.zip, a folder that contains the homebrew PSP games such as blackjack, tetris, and pac-man along with a SNES emulator. Go to flashenabled.com/h20/psp/kxploit_1.5.zip to download KXploit. Once installed, choose “Idioma” and select English. Open KXploit and in the name box type a name for the app file you want to load. SNES, for example, for the emulator. Click the “…” button and navigate to the folder you downloaded, then to the SNES folder, and select the EBOOT.PBP file inside. (homebrew PSP apps are all called EBOOT.PBP. Now connect your PSP to your computer and select it from the drop down menu (usually its e: or f:). Click the “generate files” button. This will create two folders called SNES and SNES% on the Memory Stick inside PSP > Game. Now put the SNES games (the .smc files) into the SNES% folder. Unplug your PSP and navigate to Game, then to Memory Stick, and select the Launcher app. Go to the SNES% folder to choose a game and play! To load other games, sush as PSP tetris, repeat the steps above but use a new name and EBOOT.PBP file for that application.
Surf the internet on your PSP:
Sony’s latest firmware update includes a web browser but updating your PSP could cripple the homebrew hack above. Instead use the downloads function of the commercial game Wipeout Pure (and a simple settings change on the PSP) to surf anywhere on the web on any hotspot.
Other hacks:
Get RSS Feeds with MioMediaBox which is available at mioplanet.com.
Read e-books on your PSP by turning any text file into an e-book with PSPphoto which is available at tokyopedia.com for free.
UPDATE!! 11/29/05
Sony’s latest firmware updates prevent you from running emulators. New PSP games also automatically install the new firmware updates which are required to play.
